About Worli Sea Face
The sea face runs from Worli Koliwada to Haji Ali, a wide promenade with the Bandra-Worli Sea Link to the north and the Koli fishing village and its 17th-century fort at the far end. It's calmer than Marine Drive, and you get better photographs of the sea link from here.
There's no gate and it never closes. Walkers and joggers have it mostly to themselves early in the morning; by evening it fills with families and couples waiting for the sea link lights to come on. Worli Fort, up the lanes of the Koliwada, is open from about 5 AM to 7 PM.
At monsoon high tides the waves come over the wall, and people turn up specially to watch. On days with heavy rain and a high tide the city tells everyone to stay off the seafront. In July 2026 the mayor went there herself and told the crowds to leave, so if you're visiting in the monsoon, look up the tide times first.
The Coastal Road's new sea-facing promenade, 5.25 km long, opened in August 2025 and runs from Priyadarshini Park to Lotus Jetty. A 320 m link to Worli is still under construction.
Tips
- Walk north to Worli Koliwada for the fort and the fishing boats, before the fort closes at about 7 PM
- In the monsoon, stay back from the wall at high tide
- The restaurants of Lower Parel and Worli are a short taxi ride away
