About Bandra Kurla Complex
Built on reclaimed marsh to take the pressure off the old business district, BKC is where the banks, the consultancies and most of the consulates ended up. It is planned, wide and a little bloodless by Mumbai standards, but it now holds the city’s largest cultural centre and some of its most serious restaurants.
- Getting there
- Metro Line 3 has a station at BKC, which is the easiest way in. Otherwise Bandra or Kurla on the suburban lines and an auto across.
- When to go
- Weekday lunch for the restaurants, evening for the bars. Weekends are quiet, which is either the point or the problem.
