The middle of the city and the place everything passes through: two railway lines, a terminus, and the flower market that starts before dawn. Dadar is Marathi Mumbai’s centre of gravity, with Shivaji Park on the west side and a dense run of vegetarian restaurants and North Indian rooms around the station on the east.
- Getting there
- Dadar on both the Western and Central lines, plus Dadar terminus for outstation trains. Almost every bus route in the middle of the city touches it.
- When to go
- Early morning for the flower market, which is busiest between five and eight.
Known for
- Dadar flower market at dawn
- Shivaji Park and its cricket
- Chaitya Bhoomi on the seafront

Tip. East and west are separated by the station and the crossing takes longer than it looks. Check which side you need before you arrive.
