About Andheri
Less a neighbourhood than a city in itself, split by the railway into a west that goes out and an east that goes to work. The film studios are here, the airport is on the doorstep, and Versova and Lokhandwala carry much of the suburbs’ nightlife.
- Getting there
- Andheri on the Western line, and Metro Line 1, which crosses the city east to west from Versova to Ghatkopar.
- When to go
- Evening. East and west are separate trips, so pick one.
Known for
- Lokhandwala and Versova for restaurants and bars
- Film and television studios
- Proximity to the airport
- Versova beach and the fishing village
Tip. Crossing between Andheri East and West at rush hour can take longer than getting to town. Use the metro or plan around it.
