About Powai Lake

Built as a water supply for the city in 1891, Powai Lake now sits at the centre of a suburb of glass towers, with the hills of the national park rising behind. A lakeside promenade runs along the southern shore beside the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road; the lake is home to a resident population of marsh crocodiles (viewed from the path, not the water). IIT Bombay's campus lies along its eastern shore.
