About Discover Mumbai

Discover Mumbai is an independent guide to the city: where to eat, what to see, how to plan a day and how to get around. Every entry carries the practical details that make a plan actually work: timings, prices, nearest station, what to order.

Who runs it

The site is built and run by Mayur Dighe, who started it as a restaurant directory and has grown it into a full city guide. There is no agency or media group behind it.

Restaurants are not charged to be listed and cannot pay for a rating or a "featured" spot. If that ever changes, this page will say so.

How we rate and check things

Each restaurant is scored out of ten on food, service, ambience and value for money. Scores combine what diners consistently say in public reviews with our own visits, and they move when the experience does.

For landmarks and attractions we record opening hours, entry fees and transport as of our last check. Prices in Mumbai change without notice, so where a figure is marked "approx." or "check current rates", confirm it before you go. If you find something out of date, email us and we will fix it.

Photographs of landmarks come from Wikimedia Commons under their respective licences and are credited on each page. Restaurant photographs are from the venues’ public listings.
